The 2021 Fruit Tree Festival is a celebration of Houston's unique growing climate and abundant fruit tree varieties. Join us as we learn to grow, care for, and celebrate fruit trees in Houston.

Fruit Tree Festival Week Events

Saturday February 6th: Basic Fruit Tree Care and Planting

9:30am-12:00pm

$20

This virtual class will teach you the basics of fruit tree selection, planting, care, and maintenance. We will cover temperate fruit trees, citrus, and the semi-tropical varieties that are appropriate for our area. Participants will receive a month-by-month calendar for fruit tree care - pruning, pest control, harvesting and fertilization.


Tuesday, February 9: Fruit Share and Care Panel Discussion

A virtual introduction to the non-profit Fruit Share Houston and a presentation on the care of mature fruit trees and trouble shooting to increase health and production of your trees. Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion

Wednesday, February 10: Fruit Orchards and Regenerative Agriculture

5:30pm-7:30pm

This virtual event combines a community garden orchard tour with a presentation on Regenerative Agriculture for Orchards.

Thursday, February 11: Cultivated Cocktails

Join us for a live how-to class at White Oak Music Hall with Ravens Tower bartender and Chef German Mosquera from Verdine as they prep a cocktail and appetizer with the freshest citrus of the season.

Young Professionals: We will have a special networking opportunity from 5:00pm-6:00pm.

Virtual attendance to the live Zoom class is $10.


Saturday, February 13: Grow Fruit Trees in Small Spaces

9:30am-11:30am

$20

This virtual class focuses on fruit tree planting and pruning techniques that allow homeowners with the smallest urban lots to grow fruitful gardens. This system, also known as high density orchard, enables the urban gardener to quadruple the variety of fruit they can grow without buying a single square foot of land.

Ticket Packages and Donation

For $250, you will receive live virtual access to each class listed, along with a recorded copy of the classes within two weeks of the event. The ticket package also includes two tickets to Cultivated Cocktails.

For $500, you will receive everything included in the $250 level along with a one hour backyard orchard consult with a fruit tree expert.
